Ocean Alexander motor yachts are known worldwide as a quality-built vessel. This design is by Ed Monk, Jr. and is of the semi-displacement type permitting speeds beyond waterline length displacement limitations while maintaining stability. The hull sides are foam cored for weight reduction. The underbody features a keel deep enough to provide protection for the propellers. The layout is a pilothouse design with a flybridge and covered aft cockpit.
Waterline Boats / Boatshed does not independently verify capacities and measures, which are reported from seller-provided information and/or literature.

Enter the vessel from the aft cockpit through a sliding door. The main salon features large windows for excellent visibility and illumination. There is a U-shaped settee with table to port and a single settee to starboard. A built-in teak enclosure houses a flat screen TV to starboard aft.
The galley is forward and open to the salon on the port side. It features granite countertops and a large stainless steel sink and faucet. Galley equipment includes:
- 12VDC Nova Kool refrigerator-freezer (Galley);
- 120VAC U-line refrigerator (Flybridge);
- 120VAC U-line Fridge-Ice Maker (Salon);
- 120VAC Euro Kerra 3-burner stovetop;

The cabins below differ from the stock model (which has two staterooms). The master cabin is amidships and features a walk-around queen-sized berth and ensuite marine head compartment with stall shower. This cabin spans the full width of the vessel. Forward is another private double cabin in the forepeak with a pullman double berth to starboard and a hanging locker cabinet to port. This cabin has direct access to the second marine head compartment with stall shower which is just aft. Between the owners cabin and the forepeak guest cabin is another double cabin with upper and lower single berths and a hanging locker. Cabins are elegantly trimmed out in teak cabinetry and all have ample storage in drawers and lockers and opening ports for visibility and ventilation.
The seating in the pilothouse and salon could easily be used for additional berthing.
The engine room is accessed from the midship cabin through double doors. It is also accessible from the lazarette at the aft deck.

Broker's Comments
This Ocean Alexander 486 Classico motor yacht is an ideal choice for Pacific Northwest cruising and living aboard. The classic pilothouse design by Ed Monk, Jr. features an expansive interior and a layout that maximizes visibility and provides for excellent flow between spaces.
The clean exterior includes large windows throughout the main deck and walk around side decks with high safety rails. A covered teak cockpit is aft. Above, a flybridge is amidships for excellent visibility and to minimize motion for the helmsman and guests underway.
Twin 480 HP Volvo Penta engines provide a 12 knot cruise speed to permit exploring further over a weekend getaway. The semi-displacement hull can be run up to 18 knots, or at single digit speeds to maximize range and minimize fuel consumption. Bow and stern thrusters complement the propulsion system.
This boat has a rare three stateroom layout for this model to accommodate more guests underway. The owners' cabin spans the full beam and includes an ensuite marine head compartment with stall shower.
Typical of Ocean Alexander yachts, the interior is built with fine teak cabinetry and trim. Convenience features include a washer-dryer, built-in vacuum system, ice maker and trash compactor. This would be a great choice as a liveaboard vessel.
