Broker's Comments
The Trusty T28 Motor Yacht has always stood out from the crowd, and this particular example is certainly no exception!
The Trusty T28 has a fine reputation as being a sturdy well-made vessel with renowned sea-keeping properties, being a semi displacement, long keeled motor yacht.
From my time spent on board this vessel she appeared to be in lovely condition. I am sure this is due in part to the low level of use this boat has had, as evidenced by her very low engine hours currently recorded, and by the ongoing care and maintenance afforded to her by the current owner.
She is fitted out to an exceptionally high standard with many added extras as can be seen on her inventory - and prior to commissioning she had additional items added which at the time totalled over £6,000. Her engine was also upgraded at the time of construction to the larger 220hp Yanmar. The engine has also just undergone a no expense spared extensive service by a local professional marine engineering company which included a sea trial to carry out a full performance test.
The owner informs me that this actual boat was used at a number of boat shows by the manufacturer as the company's show boat.
She has a bow thruster fitted with a remote and cabin controls, an electric windlass which can be operated from the helm and deck, a Webasto heating system throughout, a heads with holding tank and macerator which can also be used as a sea toilet. There is teak flooring laid in the cockpit and side decks and bow section.
The large cockpit has plenty of comfortable seating made up of large, upholstered cushions with lots of storage beneath. Mounted on her transom is a strong looking set of davits above a large swim platform decked in teak.
She also has a six piece cockpit canopy with removable panels that were fitted in March 2023. The companionway is made up of a four section, beautifully crafted bi-folding door arrangement made from Sapele wood leading to the saloon, galley and wheelhouse area.
The accommodation is spacious with great head hight, plenty of room for 4 adults in 2 cabins. The cabin flooring is holly and teak which is stunning throughout. The saloon has an L-shaped dinette area with a lowering table and also has a separate chart table area.
The galley is well equipped with oven, grill, microwave and fridge with a freezer box and a larger than average sink with mixer tap.
The Master cabin has a large island bed with easy walk around access from both sides and plenty of storage space including a hanging locker. On both sides under the mattress are two spacious storage areas and access to the bow thruster motor and gearing. The front external cushions for the bow are also stored here.
The guest cabin has a double sized berth cleverly designed giving lots of space and also benefits with a hanging locker.
Overall, I found this boat to be fitted out to what appeared to be a very high standard. She felt very solid underfoot walking around her decks and looking around at the general quality of her appearance and construction gave me a general feeling of being onboard a well-constructed, beautifully finished sturdy motor yacht. She feels the sort of vessel that would be able to take on pretty much any sea state if challenged. And being officially classified as a "category B offshore" vessel simply confirms her sea keeping abilities.
On the 20th August 2023, the owner had this boat lifted and employed the services of a local professional company to pressure wash and then re antifoul the underwater profile of her hull. The boat's topsides have been polished to a very high standard, the anodes have all been changed and the propeller cleaned and polished. All of which can be seen in the new underwater profile pictures and video. She is now looking even more stunning!!
If you are in the market for an immaculately presented motor yacht of the highest build quality then I would advise early viewing of this one.
Please note that the tender, outboard engine, life raft and EPIRB are not included in the sale but are available subject to separate negotiation.
